BAKERSFIELD, CA - They are the stars of one of the most popular reality shows on television right now.
On Sunday, those behind "Duck Dynasty" brought their message of family and faith to Bakersfield.
You know them simply as Phil, Miss Kay and Si. These members of the Robertson family spoke to a sold-out crowd at Hoffman Hospice's 19th annual "Voices of Inspiration" dinner.
From the back roads of Louisiana to the Icardo Center at Cal State Bakersfield, Si, Phil and Miss Kay were quick to entertain.
"Is that doing anything for y'all?," asked Phil, as he used his duck call.
The Robertson family became multi-millionaires with their homegrown company Duck Commander, specializing in hand-made duck calls.
Now, they're the stars of the hit TV reality show "Duck Dynasty."
But for this trio, it's not about fame and fortune, it's about family and faith.
"Well, if you know who you are going into any project, if you know exactly who you are, you come out on the other side still recognizing yourself," said Phil.
"I always said, if we ever forget where we came from I hope we lose it all because I don't ever want to forget where we came from," added Miss Kay.
The family doesn't shy away from their Christian faith on the show. And, they shared that message with the crowd of 1,400 people at CSUB.
They also talked about their desire to support Hoffman Hospice and the end-of-life care it provides.
"Faith, family, ducks is pretty well what we live by. So, I would say as we get a little older and a little older, there comes a time when we need a close-knit group of individuals, family members or others, to gather around us during those days," said Phil.
"Duck Dynasty" has gained quite a following in Bakersfield and around the country, and as it gets set to start Season Four, Uncle Si is getting some unexpected attention.
"Pretty amazing that somebody that looks like I am, is the star of the show," said Si.
"And, all the women love him," added Miss Kay.
"And, so many women wanting to marry you. A lot of women have contacted Silas Robertson, wanting to marry him," added Phil.
But sorry ladies, Si is off the market, happily married for 42 years.
Phil Robertson has written a book that's already on the New York Times best seller list.
Uncle Si is also writing a book that will be called "Si-cology One."
