The Bakersfield Police Department named a suspect in a double homicide and armed robbery at medical marijuana shop in central Bakersfield Wednesday.
A $2 million arrest warrant was issued for Aaron Patrick Burris, 32 of Bakersfield, in connection with a shooting at First Reliable, a medical marijuana shop in the 200 block of Chester Avenue.
Devin Daniels, 23 of Bakersfield, and Tony Sherman, 55 of of Los Angeles, were identified by the coroner's office as the two men slain around 9:50 a.m. Wednesday.
BPD detectives determined the motive for the shooting was robbery, the department reported.
Officers also were looking for a Black woman in 20s with a light complexion and black hair pulled into a bun.
The BPD SWAT team went to two locations early Thursday in hopes of collecting evidence related to the robbery and shootings.
The SWAT team first went to a home in the 10000 block of Valley Forest Court. Around 5:30 a.m. they went to second home in the 1300 Block of Schull Court, where they talked to several people and towed away a dark-colored Ford Explorer SUV. Eyewitnesses described a similar vehicle fleeing from the shooting.
Burris was not located and should be considered armed and dangerous, the BPD said in a news release.
Anyone with information regarding Burris' whereabouts was urged to contact the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111.
