Police need help finding store robber

BAKERSFIELD, CA -- Bakersfield Police need your help identifying a suspect wanted in connection with multiple business robberies.

The Secret Witness Program is offering a reward up to $5,000.00 for information leading to the arrest and filing of a complaint of the suspect for robbery.

On Friday, August 9, 2013, at approximately 12:08 p.m., Bakersfield Police officers responded to Metro PCS, at 700 East California Avenue for an armed robbery that had just occurred. When officers arrived they learned the suspect entered the business armed with a gun and demanded money. The suspect fled the business with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as an Asian or Hispanic male, in his late teens or early 20s, 5’08” tall, with a slim build, wearing a baseball hat, and gray hooded sweatshirt. The possible suspect vehicle, is described as a mid 2000s, yellow Chevrolet
Cobalt or similar model with ground effects and a tall spoiler.

This robbery is possibly related to three previous robberies at The Grainery, 400 South Union Avenue, Metro PCS, 1030 Chester Avenue and Metro PCS, 6300 White lane.

The Secret Witness phone line operates 24 hours a day. Secrecy is guaranteed to those who call. Callers will be asked to select a code name and code number when they provide information to Secret Witness. Should additional contact with the caller be necessary, the code name will be published along with a request for the original caller to establish contact.

Once contact is made, the caller will be asked to provide their original code number for verification purposes. The same steps will be taken to pay a reward to the caller. Secret Witness is operated under the direction of an independent, voluntary board of directors representing civic organizations, law enforcement agencies, media outlets, and corporate sponsors.
