BAKERSFIELD, CA -- A man charged with striking his co-worker over the head with a pipe wrench in the oil fields of Derby Acres has been arrested.
Michael Ralph Atkison was scheduled to be in court last week, but didn't show. A warrant was issued for his arrest and he was booked into jail Monday morning.
Deputies say on September 3, Bobby Fitts was struck on the back of the head, cracking his skull. Fitts' wife told us he is on the mend but it will be a long road to recovery.
Atkison was arrested the day of the incident but bailed out of jail on a $50,000 dollar bond.
