BAKERSFIELD, CA- State Assemblyman Rudy Salas will hold a hearing Thursday morning to address the growing number of people seeking medical services under the affordable care law.
Salas says the new law will increase demand on the system, and create a need for more doctors and nurses here in the central valley.
He also says it will increase the demand for other allied professionals like lab workers, and x-ray and pharmacy technicians.
The assemblyman wants to examine how people can be trained and apply for these jobs as well.
The hearing is set for Thursday at 9:30 a.m. until noon at CSUB's Student Union Multi-purpose room located at 9001 Stockdale Highway.
