A juvenile male was shot in the head on Buena Vista Blvd in Lamont early Thursday, the Kern Sheriff's Department reported.
The male was driving westbound on Buena Vista Blvd. near Weedpatch Hwy. shortly before 4 a.m. when the shooting took place, deputies said.
The juvenile, whose identity and age were not released, walked a distance to a home on Buena Vista Blvd. where help was summoned.
The male was taken to the hospital by ambulance. His condition was not immediately available, deputies said.
Deputies did not have a suspect description to release in Lamont Thursday morning. And they said they were not immediately sure if the shooting was connected to an earlier act of violence in Arvin Saturday in which a 15-year-old male was stabbed to death at Di Giorgio Park.
The attacker in that case was believed to be from Lamont, Arvin Police reported. And the Arvin attack was believed to be gang-related.
