BAKERSFIELD, CA - The third defendant convicted in the murder of a 71-year-old woman during the robbery of her necklace, was sentenced Tuesday morning to life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus four years.

The family of Guadalupe Ramos was in court as Christopher Patterson learned his sentence.

Last month, a jury found Patterson guilty of first degree murder, second degree robbery and participating in a street gang.

Ramos died from her injuries after Patterson came up behind her and ripped off her necklace in the Foods Co. parking lot on Haley street in August 2012.

Ramos' daughter addressed the judge before sentencing, pleading for a stiff sentence.

"He had no reaction. He had no remorse, and I am glad he got what he got. Now maybe he will have time to think about what he's done, what he may have done to others," said Natalie Ramos.

Patterson's family members left the courtroom without comment.

The other two defendants, Maxamillon McDonald and Lawrence Slaughter are already serving life sentences.
