Arvin Elementary School was closed Friday due to a broken water line. The announcement was posted to the Kern Superintendent of Schools Alertline Website. Di Giorgio Elementary School also was closed Friday due to a power outage. It was not immediately clear if the outage was weather-related. No other details were immediately available.
