KERN COUNTY, CA - A high wind warning was extended Friday evening, as plenty of people are picking up after a second-straight day of blowing dust and debris.
Local pool cleaners say Friday, they were overwhelmed with business, going to dozens of homes.
"I've been to ten, and I have twelve more to go to with two repairs," said Dan Phillips, Owner of Big Blue Pool Service.
Phillips says several of the pools he cleaned Friday, didn't look like pools.
"I've seen that last week, they were crystal clear and blue because the weather has been so nice and going to today it just looks like someone took a green trash can and dumped it in the pool."
At Bakersfield College, school officials took precautions, after a 50-year-old tree fell on a woman Thursday, sending her to the hospital with moderate injuries.
"Right now, our main concern is the wind. It's continuing and we do have more trees on this campus which are just as big and just as old. So, we actually have a tree company who came out to do an emergency service and start pruning these trees significantly to make sure that we don't have another one come down," said Bakersfield College spokesperson Amber Chiang.
The Valley Air District says with strong winds, the dust can aggravate lung disease, trigger asthma and bronchitis, and increase the risk of respiratory infections, even Valley Fever.
A big reminder from the health department and the Valley Air District to stay indoors during a dust storm or severe winds.
They say everyone is at risk for certain illnesses during those times.
