BAKERSFIELD, CA- Teachers and other staff members with the Kern High School District made their voices heard Monday night in their fight to get a pay raise.
Several staff members spoke before the board of trustees urging them to give them a pay raise.
"We haven't had a raise in seven years. They have the money now, but they don't want to give it to us," said Randy Turner a school bus driver.
"Please be patient. We are working with your bargaining units and I think we'll have good information for you in the coming weeks," said KHSD trustee Bryan Bate.
Employees say the district offered them what amounts to a one-time bonus. However, they're holding out for a raise.
