BAKERSFIELD, CA -- Three people are under arrest, thanks to alert neighbors. Police credit those watchful residents with the arrests of 22-year-old Melanie Martinez from Lamont, 18-year-old Glenn Sagan from Bakersfield and a 16-year-old boy.
Police say the trio was spotted after burglarizing a home on Vista Verde Tuesday morning where they kicked in the door.
About an hour later, police were called to a home in the 11000 block of Rockridge Way after a neighbor spotted them breaking into a home there.
Police say the suspects were using a car that matched the description of the vehicle used in the previous burglary.
Reagan Elementary School was locked down while police made the arrests.
