Two people were shot overnight in the parking lot in front of a hookah lounge on California Avenue in southwest Bakersfield.
Bakersfield Police got the call around 1:40 Friday morning. They arrived to find one man shot in the head, he was taken to Kern Medical Center, with major injuries.
Police say the second victim was shot in the leg and taken to the hospital. Officers say the motive is not clear and they don't know if this is gang-related.
No arrests have been made, and police don't have any suspect descriptions at this time. This is at least the third shooting in that parking lot this year.
