A special homecoming is scheduled for a Bakersfield soldier wounded in a suicide bomb attack three months ago.
Lieutenant Samuel Van Kopp will arrive at Meadows Field Airport Monday, to spend the holidays with his family.
He told 17 News over the phone today he's excited to be coming home.
Van Kopp is a graduate of Bakersfield High School and U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
Van Kopp is currently at a rehab facility in Richmond, Virginia, but makes trips to Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C. for treatment.
