BAKERSFIELD, CA - Two off-duty Sheriff's deputies were placed on administrative leave after allegedly for discharging a personal firearm in the Golden West Casino parking lot Sept. 29.
Deputies Robert Patrick and Patrick Klawitter were involved in the incident, which occurred at around 4:30 a.m., according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office. Other deputies were dispatched to the parking lot after receiving a report of an illegal shooting.
The Sheriff's Office says the two deputies were attending the casino that evening as patrons. According to the investigation, one of them discharged his personal pistol while in the parking lot.
A criminal complaint has been submitted to the Kern County District Attorney's Office for the negligent discharge of a firearm, and destruction of evidence.
