A man suffered major injuries Monday after he was struck by a truck on 24th St. just west of Oak St. shortly before 7 a.m. Monday.
The man was struck a second time by a vehicle, witnesses said. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Bakersfield Police Department officers were diverting westbound traffic onto southbound Oak St amid an investigation. Traffic on 24th street was backed up quite a distance on the westbound side.
There was no estimate when the roadway would reopen.
