BAKERSFIELD, CA - Bakersfield city firefighters plucked a roofer to safety Tuesday from atop the Rabobank Convention Center.
Firefighters say the roofer fell from a ladder about 8 feet to a lower level. The 45-year-old man complained of back pain.
Firefighters say they packaged the man in a stretcher and lowered him down with ropes.
Firefighters say it was a standard rescue response for them. But due to the fog and weather, the roof was wet and slick.
