BAKERSFIELD, CA - Investigators are still trying to figure out what sparked a fire to a vacant house in Oildale Wednesday morning.
Fire officials say just after 8:00 AM, they received a call for heavy smoke from an 1,100 square foot single-family home in the 400 block of Oildale Dr.
A reinforced alarm was started at dispatch. The first arriving crew encountered a house with an attic fully charged with smoke and started an additional engine.
The crew made entry through the front door of the house and conducted a search of the structure for possible victims. No victims were found.
The firefighters extinguished the fire in twenty minutes. The fire caused $40,000 of damage.
