Every hit song starts with one thing - a songwriter.
American Sound Recording Studio is bringing professionals and amateurs together to create some beautiful music in Bakersfield. This weekend, about 25 local musicians will learn from some of the best.
Last year, participants said they were excited for the opportunity. Once again, some local musicians will have that chance as Grammy award-winning songwriters pass on their knowledge in the second Master Songwriter Series seminar.
"They will teach everything from creative, to promotions. A to Z," said producer Steven Sharp.
Organizers say knowing about multiple areas of the industry is important no matter what field you're interested in.
"Most songwriters don't know the first thing about taking a song from creation to on the radio with a featured artist or a major artist. They learn it all," said Sharp. But it all starts with one thing.
"There would be no Frank Sinatra, no Elvis Presley, no Beatles, no American Idol, No X Factor, none of that without first the song," said Executive Producer Rick Stevens.
The event is Saturday. The songwriters will also be doing a concert tonight.
