BAKERSFIELD, CA - A preliminary report says the Arizona plane crash that killed a Bakersfield woman last month was likely caused by engine failure.
The National Transportation Safety Board says the propeller of the plane wasn't bent, meaning it wasn't turning when the plane hit the Arizona desert last month.
Josephine Chan, 49, was killed in the crash.
Her husband, 48-year-old Vidson Chan and their 12-year-old son were injured.
Officials say Vidson Chan radioed air controllers just before the crash that the plane's engine had lost oil pressure and he was looking for the nearest airport.
