Sheriff's detectives are investigating a homicide near Arvin.
Deputies say crews with the Kern County Fire Department found a body early Sunday morning.
Firefighters were putting out a brush fire on the north side of Bear Mountain Boulevard, just east of Deer Trail Drive when they made the discovery.
Deputies say the victim is a man, but his name has not been released.
An autopsy is scheduled to determine how he died.
