BAKERSFIELD, CA-- Fire guts two units and damages two others at local residential hotel despite the best efforts of tenants to put out the flames with hotel fire extinguishers.
"Pulled the pin and went to go use it and it just didn't do anything same thing with the second one," said Catrina Lowery.
Firefighters peg the damage at between $80,000 to $100,000 to the Best Economy Inn and Suites on Olive Tree Court. The fire started just before 8:00 p.m. Friday. Fire investigators say a probable cause of the flames was children playing with a lighter. No injuries were reported.
