BAKERSFIELD, CA -- A DUI suspect accused of killing a local woman two weeks ago pleaded not guilty Friday.   Alex Rubio is charged with second-degree murder, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, DUI, and hit and run-- for a crash that killed 22-year-old Princess Almonidovar.

That crash happened at the intersection of Ming Avenue and New Stine Road January third.  But Rubio's attorney, Tony Lidgett, told the court his client wasn't at fault.

Lidgett says he has a witness, a security guard, who claims he saw princess run the red light the night of the crash.  "It takes away some of his criminal responsibility. There is a lot, you have to remember this is an accident from the most part. Mr. Rubio had no intent to hurt this lady. He didn't even know the lady. You know it is a complete accident."

Lidgett also says they are trying to get any video recordings at the intersection from the time of the crash.  Investigators are still waiting on toxicology reports on Princess.
