BAKERSFIELD, CA-- The crash happened around 9:00 Friday morning. The CHP says the driver was heading east on 58 headed to the southbound 99 connector. That's when he hit the cement side- and two other cars got tangled up in the mess. The truck then caught fire.
Both the north and southbound lanes of Highway 99 were closed for more than 3 hours while repairs were being made to the eastbound 58 connector from Southbound Highway 99. The freeways and transition ramp were reopened early Friday afternoon.
