BPD tells of cell phones stolen at gunpoint

Bakersfield police say two men used guns to steal cell phones in a rash of holdups Wednesday morning.

None of the three victims were injured.

Police said the victims were walking on the street when the robbers pulled up beside them in a car; the passenger got out of the car, brandished a gun and stole the victims’ cell phone.

The robbers were described as:

The driver: An Hispanic man, 19 or 20, black baseball cap, short hair, clean shaven

The passenger: A light complexioned black or Hispanic man, 19-20, black short hair, wearing a black and grey letterman’s jacket and armed with a black revolver

The two were in black Acura Integra, clean in appearance with a rear spoiler and rear tinted windows.

The robberies happened in the 400 block of K Street, the 1200 block of New Stine Road. and the 2600 block of Brookside Drive, between 9:46 am and 10:39 am.

The only loss was cellular telephones.
