MCFARLAND, CA -- McFarland City Manager John Wooner announced Tuesday morning that the city's police chief has resigned and Sgt. Scot Kimble has been named interim chief.
Greg Herrington had been on a leave of absence for about two weeks now, but city officials won't say why. He resigned effective Tuesday morning.
The chief and the city face a sexual harassment lawsuit filed last September by a former department employee.
Council members met in closed session Monday night, but returned with no details, except to say they'll be issuing a news release Tuesday morning.
