BAKERSFIELD, CA -- An end to the GET bus strike may be on the horizon. On Friday morning, day 4 of the strike, GET and union officials met for their second day of talks since the strike began.

Kern County Supervisor Leticia Perez was there for the negotiations and says a proposal was made, and now they are waiting for approval. "Things today(Friday) went better than expected. It's been proving successful to come together, sit down and at least keep negotiations and conversations moving. Today(Friday) the union made a proposal or a counter offer to the company. And the company is not authorized to accept that without their board of directors' approval."

Before the proposal can go to the GET board however, it must be approved by union members.  No talks are scheduled in the meantime.

Hundreds of drivers and mechanics have been on strike since Tuesday, and all routes have been suspended.  Curb to Curb service is still available for those with severe medical needs.
