BAKERSFIELD, CA -- The sheriff's department is asking for the public's help in tracking down some distinct religious items taken during a burglary inside a church in southeast Bakersfield.
Deputies say on the night of June 30, the Missionaries of Guadalupe Church at 79 Rexland Acres Drive was burglarized. A suspect or suspects entered the church and removed several items. Four of the items are very distinct religious items used during ceremonies.
The items are described as a 6 foot tall gold “Crosier” and three gold and silver “Cali Cups”. The value of these items is approximately several thousand dollars. Based on information from witnesses, the suspect/suspects may have fled in a white newer model Toyota pickup.
