Four DUI arrests were for alcohol charges, while one was for narcotics.
Additionally, 11 drivers were found with invalid driver licenses, two of which were found to be suspended. Eight vehicles were impounded.
Seven vehicles held for driver license violations were released before conclusion of the checkpoint.
This checkpoint was part of an effort to reduce the number of people injured or killed each year from DUI related collisions by increasing enforcement and spreading awareness of the dangers of driving while intoxicated.
BPD requests anyone who suspects a drunk driver to report the incident to 911.
