FRESNO, CA - Three men plead guilty to methamphetamine related charges in Fresno court Tuesday in two separate cases, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Juan Angel Lopez, 32, admitted to knowingly and intentionally conspiring with others to distribute meth in Bakersfield between March 1 and July 10.
The justice department says that Lopez was found April 18, 2013, with two firearms, 74.31 grams of meth, and $844 in cash all stashed beneath the center console of a vehicle. Lopez, a previously convicted felon, reportedly admitted to ownership of the two guns, which he was restricted from owning.
In a separate case, Luis Alfonso Mendivil, 22, and Jonathen Leyva, 27, admitted to conspiring with others to distribute approximately 3.5 kilograms of meth throughout Bakersfield from Sept. 1, 2013, to Oct. 22, 2013.
All three men are scheduled for sentencing Dec. 22. Lopez faces a maximum penalty of life in prison and a $10 million fine. Mendivil and Leyva face a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
