BAKERSFIELD, CA. - After a nearly two week break, testimony resumed today in the trial of accused Taft High School shooter Bryan Oliver.

Dr. Thomas Middleton, an expert witness for the defense took the stand.

Middleton testified he concluded accused shooter Oliver is bi-polar and suffers from PTSD.

Middleton said Oliver's condition caused a dissociative episode the day of the shooting -- supporting Oliver's claim that he blacked out the day he shot classmate Bowe Cleveland in science class.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Mark Pafford questioned how Oliver could have blacked out but still remember how many shotgun shells he put in the gun when questioned by detectives.

Middleton said Oliver developed personas/ characters in fantasy and real life to distance himself from the pain he was facing because of bullying at the school.

Testimony resumes this afternoon.
