BAKERSFIELD, CA. - The Volunteer Center of Kern County asked the community for help this morning, and the community turned out in a big way!
The Volunteer Center held a cinnamon roll fundraiser to raise money to keep their doors open and they sold out of the rolls in a matter of hours.
The center sold packs of a dozen cinnamon rolls for $10.
They planned to sell them until 6 p.m., however, things didn't go as planned.
Executive Director Brenda Ratliff said the response this year was so huge that next year they are already planning to sell 1000 dozen cinnamon rolls.
The warm and delicious treats rolled in $1,600 for the Volunteer Center.
